Fees and holidays are separate settings that work together: a holiday changes booking behavior for a date, while a fee controls what Avoca communicates or applies when its conditions match.
Add a holiday
Open Settings → Business Info → Booking Windows → Holidays.
- Select the year you want to review.
- Choose Add Holiday, or Import to select supported public holidays.
- Enter the holiday name and date.
- Choose the booking behavior: No Booking, Regular Booking, or Emergency Only Booking.
- Set transfer behavior when that option is available.
- If the holiday applies only to certain work, scope it to the intended service and appointment types.
- Save the holiday and leave it enabled only when it should affect live availability.
The holiday list shows whether each entry is enabled, its booking mode, what it applies to, and transfer behavior. Use the year controls to review future dates before the seasonal schedule starts.
Open Settings → Business Info → Fees → Fees, then choose Add Fee or open an existing fee.
- Give the fee a clear internal name and customer-facing amount or wording.
- Add or edit the fee’s Applications or conditions.
- Select only the conditions required for that fee.
- Save and confirm the Applications count on the fee list.
Available conditions can include call time, days of the week, booking windows, job types, and—when enabled—driving distance. Every condition on one application must be satisfied for that application to match. An omitted condition does not restrict the fee.
The separate Rulesets tab under Fees is deprecated and disabled. Configure fee conditions directly on each fee; do not build a new workflow around the old fee-ruleset page.
Capacity Planning also has a tab named Rulesets. Those rules adjust capacity and are unrelated to fees.
Add holiday fee behavior
Use the currency action on a holiday or the Holiday Fees tab to map a normal fee to the fee that should apply on that holiday. Review the base fee and override fee carefully; a holiday override can change the fee without changing the normal fee.
Use Promotions for supported promotional fee behavior. Keep promotion dates and eligibility narrower than the underlying fee so the normal fee remains the fallback.
Verify the result
Test at least these cases before relying on the configuration:
- A normal day that should use the base fee
- A matching holiday date
- A service or appointment type inside the holiday scope
- A service or appointment type outside the scope
- A fee condition that should match and one that should not
Fees and Holidays are permission-gated. If either tile or tab is missing, ask a team admin to confirm that Scheduling or Fees is enabled and that your role has access.
